Adding additional printer drivers windows server 2008


















 · On the initial screen select the Add new printer using an existing port and choose the port to which the printer is connected from the drop down list. Once selected, click Next to install a printer driver. If one is already installed, select it from the drop down next .  · So I tried to go to the Windows 7 x64 system and install the compatible Windows 7 x64 driver to the server printserver by clicking start, run, \\servername\ then click on "View Remote Printers" and adding the driver by right clicking and selecting "server properties". This gave the same message as above about error code 0xbcb.  · On R2, open Print Management then expand Print Servers SERVERNAME Drivers. You can add x86 and x64 drivers as well as remove drivers from here.


When using a Windows R2 print server, only 64 bit drivers will be installed by default. In order to support 32 bit clients additional client drivers must be installed. I have installed 3 TCP/IP printers on server x When I tried to install additional drivers for windows 7 x86 clients using the windows 7 x86 driver package from my vendor it said "The folder you specified does not contain a compatible software driver for your device". So I finally figured out it wanted drivers that were for server x I have a crazy problem with a new Windows server x64 server that has recently been installed and put into production at a remote site. Today after fiddling with a printer I wanted to install x86 drivers for our Windows XP clients. After a few wierd unsuccesful attpemts I started Googling.
